Very cool little restaurant. The interior and vibe is excellent- as well as the staff. Not the best sushi in the area (I think Mizu is slightly better) but combined with everything else, it's a strong contender for the best sushi restaurant in San Jose.

The fish was fresh and buttery. I really enjoyed the carpaccio and I think it's great they have a couple of options for this. The service was very quick and the staff was very nice. The restaurant's quite small so expect a small wait whenever you come. There are two sections: one traditional table and the other is a traditional sit down on cushions (I'm not sure what they're called). Unfortunately, I don't think they have online waitlists so you would have to go in person to put your name down.

Amazing service! Always listen to customers and fulfill the orders to the best of their ability. The owner Doug is a great guy and always goes out of his way to make sure customers are comfortable. The food is amazing as well!

Solid restaurant. First time revisiting after decades of family dinners here at Yuki Sushi. The place seems more open and airy; were some seats removed? I like the openness. Seats no longer at sushi bar, understandably. Food was very good. My salmon collar was good but almost microwaved too long since it was just too hot. The grilled mackerel was good, but the piece was small. Shrimp tempura was served piping hot. Delicious. Service was very strange. A grumpy young woman with aggressive tendencies approached the table with, "You ready to order?" But at the end of the meal she wanted to reach in and grab my bento box while I was boxing up my left overs.... The owner stopped by and asked if we wanted a bag for our leftovers, which was kind. Took the sting of the potential bento snatch away. Cleanliness of the restaurant enticed us back. The owner is on top of his game. Recommend this spot.
